Novel movements describe a process of altering the context and manner in which painful movements are performed in order to change the result from one of pain and limitation. Edgework describes a specific process of attending to movement during the interventions that are used in the clinic such that self-efficacy and expansion of movement are facilitated.
In this 2 day workshop a framework for the interactive process of care will be presented with specific applications of current pain science and theory to the clinic. The approach of moving within specific novel contexts, allowing for new outputs to previously painful movements, will be presented as well as a specific process that can overlay existing models of care. Specific applications will be presented for the upper and lower quarter.
